"So What!" about Money

"So What!" about Money

To give unto Caesar
Some will save and others pilfer,
To be said to be richer
Of gold and silver.

Men will turn cannibal
Turn the church into a carnival
Retail disease in a hospital
To add coin to purse.

Money is the motive
The recurring motif
In man's daily agenda
His soul he already sold it.

It seems to be the common intention
Money drives our every action
We acquire mansions to be mentioned
The love of money, our curse.

Like a parking ticket outdated
We seek to be validated.
Released of a debt
That He already paid it.

You cannot serve both God and money,
The good book in Matthew 6:24 says.
If money rules your thoughts night and day,
Fall on your knees and repentant pray.

Money is good,
But it cannot be our life's goal.
We are created for a higher purpose
One in which money plays a supporting role
For what good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world,
Yet forfeits his soul?
