Luke 18:6-8 Don't Give Up Luke 18:6-8 And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" It is easy to be discouraged when we pray for something and our prayer seems to go unanswered. So Jesus told a parable to his disciple to encourage them to "always pray and not give up." A widow kept coming to a judge for help. She pleaded, "Grant me justice from my adversary." The judge did not fear God nor care for justice. But after her constant requests he finally decided to oblige "so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!"
