John 21:15 Second Chances John 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." Still regretting his three denials, Peter went back to what he knew best. He was out fishing and that's where Jesus found him. The resurrected Lord called to the fisherman from the shore and provided for a miraculous catch of fish. When Peter realized that it was Jesus on the shore, he jumped in the water and ran to the Lord. In an intimate conversation Jesus asked Peter three times, "Do you love me?" Perhaps each question provided Peter an opportunity to counter each previous denial. With Peter reaffirming his love, Jesus reinstated the apostle and gave him a second invitation to follow.
