Disciplined Emotions Robert Tyre also known as ‘Bobby’ Jones Jr is one of golfing greats. Between 1920 and 1930, he won thirteen major championships and remains the only player ever to win all four majors in the same year before retiring from golf when he was 28-years old. But achieving that success did not come easy; Jones had to master himself—particularly his temper. He began playing golf in 1907 when he was only five years old. Professor Ken Brown restored my faith in humanity. He created 12 lectures for a Great Courses program with the same title as this article, and I called him up to ask whether influence and persuasion were really just ways to manipulate others. Thankfully, he had a great answer for me. Ken started with a quick overview.
