Fear of Insignificance: I Stand Innocent

Image
Fear of Insignificance: I Stand Innocent! "So, since we have come to be considered righteous by God because of our trust, let us continue to have shalom with God through our Lord, Yeshua the Messiah." {Romans 5:1, Complete Jewish Bible} The fear of insignificance arises when we compare ourselves to the standard of the world. However, when we realize that we have “peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” that should change everything. All believers have been “justified!” That rich theological word is one we need to understand in order to grasp our significance. “Justify” is a legal term that carries two significant truths. “Not Guilty!” As a sinner I stand before God without a prayer. I am guilty to the core but, thankfully, I don’t have to stand before God alone. When I place my faith in Jesus and his work on the cross, he stands with me. Jesus died for all my sin and guilt. With Jesus, God pronounces me “Not guilty.” The payment for my sin has been settled ...

Fear of Surrender: Exposed Sooner or Later

Fear of Surrender: Exposed Sooner or Later! "The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgement ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them." {1 Timothy 5:24, NIV} You are living with secret sins and getting by with it. No one else knows. You are hiding it well. What pleasure they bring! However, you’re not as clever as you think. Our passage today reminds us that all sins surface. Some are so obvious they are revealed in real time. Others come to light after the fact, but all sins are exposed sooner or later. Secret sins always come to light. “You may be sure that your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). "Driving around with secret sins in the passenger seat always makes for a dangerous journey. They are distracting partners that will take your attention from the road. Sooner or later you’ll end up in a spiritual ditch. Kick them out of the car!" - Pst. Ron Moore The Journey Radio Ministry Surrender your secret sins to God. He wi...

Fear of Surrender: You Hold Me

Fear of Surrender: You Hold Me! "I cling to you; your right hand upholds me." {Psalm 63:8, NIV} What makes you feel secure? Where do you go for safety? What makes you smile a smile of confidence? What delivers a settled peace in your soul? Here's what some people cling to. - Relationships. Sooner or later people will let you down. - Intimacy. A short-term fix that leaves you emptier than before the fling. - Job. Ever heard of "economic downturn" or "downsizing"? - 401K. Take a ride on the roller coaster of the stock market and quarterly business reports. - Substance. Enjoy the short high. The long low is a bummer. - Yourself. "I am the Captain of my soul!" Really? Good luck with that. I love today's passage because it reminds me of two important truths. First, God is the only one to cling to. He is the rock. When I hold on to him, I will never be shaken. Second, my best clinging is weak. I run out of strength and lose ...

Fear of Surrender - Finding Rest

Fear of Surrender: Finding Rest! "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." {Psalm 62:1-2, NIV} Spiritually exhausted? Feel like you are chasing your tail? Busy, running hard, but getting nowhere fast? Could it be that you're spent from running hard after the wrong thing? Could it be that you are pretty much living your life for yourself? Could it be that your spiritual exhaustion is caused by the inward battle between your will and what God wills for you? Today's passage explains where your weary soul can find rest. That escape from chasing your tail is found in God alone. In him, your eternity is set. He is the author and finisher of salvation. In him, you are secure. He is the rock! In him, you are safe. He is an impenetrable fortress. Peace is found when we surrender our weary soul to him. A person just sent me this quote: "Man alone measures time. ...

Moving on After a Relationship

Moving on After a Relationship Love can stink, but can also envelope you in the sweetest, warmest aromas you will ever sniff. Want to smell them sooner then later? Then stop crying the blues. Lesson 1,  (have you got a pen ready?), don't call him. You can miss him, have dreamy delusional thoughts, and think your life will end if you don't hear the sweet timbers of his voice.....tough. Don't call him. Have a plethora of emergency numbers (friends not 911) for when the urge hits you. If you have to dial, then dial, just not him. If you have to talk, then talk, just not to him. Distance is crucial. Prepare friends for the incoming; let them know to expect calls morning, noon or night. If they are truly friends, they will be there for you. Lesson 2:  Don't call him. I say this as many of you will see fit to skip Lesson 1, feeling you are fast learner. I can not impress upon you enough the importance of resisting all and any urges to make contact. Which brings us t...

Fear of Surrender: From Death to Life

Fear of Surrender: From Death to Life! "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life." {John 5:24, NIV} There are many reasons you may have for not being a Christian. You may not feel like you need Jesus. You may not believe the Bible to be true. You may have had a bad experience with a church or with Christians. However, there is one thing that we can all agree on - we are going to die. The obituary section of your local newspaper is filled with people whose lives on Earth have come to an end. Some were great achievers while others lived a fairly common life. Some were old, others were young. Some died suddenly, others suffered from a long illness. One day your name and mine will be in the obituary section of the newspaper, but . . . what then? You don't have to live in fear of death. The Bible is clear that you can cross over from death to eternal life....

Life of Surrender - Spiritual Healing

Life of Surrender: Spiritual Healing! “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” {1 Peter 2:24, NIV} The human heart is caught in a contradiction. On one hand God has placed eternity in our hearts, leaving us with a God-shaped hole. We suffer from an inward famine. We are starving for God. On the other hand we want to be our own god, call our own shots, be in control of our lives. We are afraid to surrender. Our fear takes us on a quest to find fulfilment and satisfaction. Like the old song says, we are looking for love in all the wrong places. Everything we do to try to reach our destination leaves our hearts just as empty and hungry as when we began. We need God, but we want to be our own god. We are afraid to surrender. Is your fear of surrender keeping you from God? Look at today's passage. Jesus bore your sins in his body on the cross so that we could die to ...

It Is Well with My Soul

Image
It Is Well with My Soul Horatio Gates Spafford   "It Is Well with My Soul"  is a  hymn  penned by hymnist  Horatio Spafford  and composed by  Philip Bliss . It is possibly the most influential and enduring in the Bliss repertoire and is often taken as a choral model, appearing in hymnals of a wide variety of Christian fellowships. Background This hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford’s life. The first was the  1871 Great Chicago Fire  which ruined him financially (he had been a successful  lawyer  and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago which was decimated by the great fire). His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873 at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the  SS Ville du Havre . In a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire...

Fear of Inadequacy

Fear of Inadequacy: All Needs Met! "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus." {Philippians 4:19, NIV} What do you need to do the thing that God is calling you to do? What’s holding you back? What’s causing spiritual paralysis? What’s causing you to run from God? What’s the one thing you need to make you feel sufficient to follow hard after God? Well, according to today’s passage, the fear of inadequacy has a remedy. Seems to me this verse promises that God will meet all of your needs. He won’t have to take out a loan. He will meet your needs according to his unlimited riches. What’s keeping you from asking God to meet all your needs so you can do what he’s calling you to do? Could it be that you have become a bit too comfortable with your fear of inadequacy? Could it be that inadequacy has become your safe house? Could it be that your “not me Lord, I don’t measure up” attitude has become your go-to excuse? A believe...

Financial Freedom God's Way - On SALE by Waila Peter

Financial Freedom God's Way by   Harvey Nowland Contact Waila Mumo for a copy today.... Cell: +(254) 723 346 472 Facebook:  Waila Mumo It is important to know why you want to become financially free. This may seem like a “no-brainer.” After all, why would you want to be in financial bondage because of debt? Freedom-from-debt freedom looks like the logical choice. Nevertheless, your motivation for becoming debt free is important. Being released from the tension and anxiety of debt and being able to do what you want, when you want, might be high on a priority list. But for the Christian, learning God’s biblical principles of finances, and practicing them in order to become debt free, actually is a path to know Christ more intimately and be financially free to serve Him. This means, however, that you must trust God and be willing to submit to His will and direction. We say we trust God, but there’s a great difference between saying and trusting. Often we trust i...

5 Important traits of Good Husband Material

Image
5 Important traits of good husband material Your marriage can be the most beautiful thing to ever happen to you but only if you go into it knowing exactly why you are getting into it in the first place. There are marriages that are very successful and while it takes both parties to play their role, your partner choice really matters. Often you will ask a girl to describe her ideal man and you will be likely to hear something about looks (height, complexion etc) and financial statuses. While these are ok things to look for in a man (after all sometimes the heart wants what it wants) they will not make your marriage work! Judging by the number of divorces and separations growing by the day it is clear that most marriages are not working. Not to be discouraged though there’s a guide to picking a man whose traits will indeed shape your marriage. So if you have a serious boyfriend, do confirm if he has any of the qualities below. Confirm whether: He is a believer Rev M...

CONSCIOUSNESS

LETS STUDY ABOUT CONSCIOUSNESS...... WHY DO WE SAY THAT AS CHRISTIAN WE NEED TO PORTRAY A GOOD CHARACTER..N AVOID UNGODLY THINGS.. IN 2Cor 8:7-13..... Conscience (vv. 7-13). Conscience is that internal court where our actions are judged and are either approved or condemned (Rom 2:14-15). Conscience is not the law, it bears witness - to God's moral law. But the important thing is this: conscience depends on knowledge. The more spiritual knowledge we know and act on, the stronger the conscience will become. Some Christians have weak consciences because they have been saved only a short time and have not had opportunity to grow Like little babes in the home, they must be guarded carefully. Other saints have weak consciences because they will not grow. They ignore their Bibles and Christian fellowship and remain in a state of infancy (1 Cor 3:1-4; Heb 5:11-14). But some believers remain weak because they are afraid of freedom. They are like a child old enough to go to school, w...

Dare to ask

Ephesians 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” When was the last time you asked God to do something impossible, something out of the ordinary? I believe that one reason we don’t see God do great things is because we only ask Him for small things. Most people pray over their food, pray for protection, or pray for wisdom. That’s all good, but don’t limit what God can do. There should be something you’re praying about, something that you’re asking for that is beyond you, something that you can’t accomplish in your own strength. Do you dare to ask? Your dreams may look impossible. You don’t have the funding or the connections, but God is saying, “I dare you to ask Me to bring it to pass. I dare you to ask Me to show you a flood of My favour.” All through the scripture, we see people doing this. Elisha prayed that it wouldn't rain, and for three and a half years ...

I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU……..BEAUTIFUL

I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU……..BEAUTIFUL!!!!! To all ladies.........  Have you ever imagined that the images of women that we see being celebrated as beautiful were carefully crafted for a purpose. The sole purpose of every image in every advertisement is to sell a product. In order to sell a multitude of products the marketing director knows that the product must be appealing to a multitude of women. For a multitude of women to find a particular product appealing the product must be outside of the norm, something that only a few women can actually attain easily. You are allowing people who are driven by profit to validate your sense of beauty. Here Is The Difference  Between Being  Pretty And Being Beautiful Beautiful women wear sweat pants and rumpled t-shirts in public and are still pursued by men. Pretty women have to wear make up at all times in order to feel attractive. Beautiful women have this gleam in their eye because they are aware of their inner powers a...

Worship The Lord with Songs

Worship The Lord with Songs Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly (Jonah 2:1). A young lady had been sick for several years and had been given up to die. In that state, sick and in pains, she was carried to a crusade. During the time of worship, she joined in and had a wonderful time, ignoring her pains. She looked away from her pains and sickness unto God. Suddenly, as she sang and worshipped, she noticed her hands that hadn't moved for years were lifted up. Then it dawned on her that she’d been healed of her disease. Overwhelmed with joy, she gave her testimony in tears. Hallelujah! If you desire a miracle in your situation, then you have to take your attention away from the challenge you’re facing and worship the Lord with your songs and prayers. The Bible says Jonah prayed to the Lord out of the fish’s belly (Jonah 2:1). Right in the midst of trouble Jonah still prayed unto the Lord. He forgot about his situation and prayed. When you study...

In Christ Alone - Travis Cotrell

Image
IN CHRIST ALONE In Christ alone, My hope is found He is my life, my strength, my song This cornerstone, this solid rock Firm through the fierces, drought and storm What heights of Love, what depths of Peace, When fears are stilled, when Strivings cease! My comforter, my all in all Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone who took on flesh Fulness of God in helpless babe This gift of Love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save, Till on that cross as jesus died The wrath of god was satisfied; For every sin on him was laid Here in the depth of Christ I live There in the ground , His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave he rose again! And as he stands in victory, Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ No guilt in life, no fear in death This the pow'r of Christ in me, From life's first cry, to final braeth. No More Limits

No More Limits!  Did you know it is possible to limit God and hinder His work in your life? Many times, our doubt, unbelief, and inability to see beyond our current circumstances keep us from receiving the best God has for us. We tend to look at the obstacles before us and become discouraged. As a result, we put a cap on our blessings. God wants to go above and beyond what we could ever ask or think, but when we limit Him because of our own finite way of thinking, we cut off His supply. We must dare to believe God will do everything He has promised in His Word and more. The Israelites are an example of how limiting God can have serious ramifications.  Psalm 78:40-42 says: “How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.” The people of Israel had a real challenge when it came to trustin...
