Sweet Destination | John 11:4

John 11:4 When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." Jesus' friend was desperately ill. The friend's sisters sent the news to Jesus: "Lord, the one you love is sick." They expected Jesus to come immediately to heal their brother. But when Jesus got the message, "he stayed where he was two more days." Jesus does not always meet our expectations. Sometimes in the midst of our desperation, it seems that he postpones coming to meet our need. Jesus does not always come in our time frame. He is never late, but he is seldom early. After Lazarus died, his sisters made it clear that they were disappointed Jesus had not arrived earlier and healed their brother. But Jesus works in his perfect time to bring glory to God. George Mueller well says, "When trials come, we should say, 'My heavenly Father puts this cup of trial into my hands, that I...

Persistent Prayer

Persistent Prayer |  Luke 11:5-10 Luke 11:5-10 Then Jesus said to them, "Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.' And suppose the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.' I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need." "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." How do you know when to stop praying for something? How do you know when enough is enough? Is there a timeline for believer...

The Broken Road By Lady Mwikali

I Will Exchange The Rugged Cross for a Crown Someday | All because of Jesus. The Broken Road by Liliane Mwikali Rascal Flatts - Bless The Broken Road Lyrics by Liliane Mwikali I set out on a narrow way many years ago Hoping I would find true love along the broken road But I got lost a time or two Wiped my brow and kept pushing through I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you That every long lost dream lead me to where you are Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Yes it did I think about the years I spent just passing through I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you But you just smile and take my hand You've been there you understand It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true Every long lost dream led me to where you are And others who broke my heart they were like northern star...

Rejection at Home

Rejection at Home | John 7:2-5 John 7:2-5 But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, Jesus' brothers said to him, "Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." For even his own brothers did not believe in him. The celebration was going on in Jerusalem, and Jesus' brothers gave him some advice. "Why stay up here in the sparsely populated area of Galilee?" they reasoned. "Go down to Jerusalem and let everyone see your miracles." Their words were pointed and sarcastic. Their tone held mockery, maybe even jealousy. They accused Jesus of wanting to be a public figure. John gives the explanation: "For even his own brothers did not believe in him." King David once lamented about friends who betrayed him. He said, "If an enemy were insulting me, I could en...

The Power of Together | Mark 9:38-41

The Power of Together Mark 9:38-41 "Teacher," said John, "we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us." "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward." AIC Milimani, Building God's Church One day John saw a person who was not one of the twelve disciples driving out demons in the name of Jesus. You have to wonder how this man knew about the power of Christ. John didn't ask questions. Since the man was "not one of us," John told him to stop acting in the name of Christ. Jesus told John not to stop the man. If the man was using Jesus' name for a miracle one moment, he couldn't turn against Jesus in t...

Be Small

Be Small | Matthew 18:1-5 Matthew 18:1-5 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. Greatness. Rulers who guided countries. Generals who won battles. Trailblazers who started movements. Greatness. The job we have. The money we make. The house we live in. The car we drive. Greatness. Facebook "Friends." Twitter and Instagram followers. Post "likes" and comments. Greatness. "Magnitude." "Enormity." "Vastness." "Largeness." Greatness. Jesus turned it u...
