Speak to the Mountain

Speak to This Mountain Mark 11:22-24 22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23  For verily I  say  unto you, That whosoever shall  say  unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he  saith  shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he  saith . 24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Jesus has just had the triumphant entry into Jerusalem. It is now the next day and as He is leaving Bethany with His disciples He sees a fig tree and because He is hungry He goes looking for figs. Finding none, He speaks to the tree saying “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and the disciples heard Him say it! The next day they pass by and they see the fig tree withered from the roots Just by His words, Jesus makes a whole...

Are You Comfortable?

ARE YOU COMFORTABLE? We all like to be comfortable and we look for situations and places that make us feel comfortable. While there we feel safe and there is no sense of risk. Many of us would rather stick with what we know than venture into the unknown. Many of us say it this way, “Better the devil you know than the angel you do not know”. A spy was captured and sentenced to death by a general in the Persian Army. Before carrying out the sentence the general gave the spy a strange choice. He told him he could have his choice of a firing squad or a big black door. After much deliberation the spy chose the firing squad and within a few moments he was dead. The general turned to his aide and said, “They always prefer the known way to the unknown.”The aide then asked the general, “What’s behind the black door?” “Freedom!” Replied the general. Behind the black door is a passageway that leads outside, but only a few have been brave enough to see what was behind it! Matthew...

What Happens When A Christian Dies?

What Happens When A Christian Dies? "Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words." - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NIV There is confusion, and perhaps some concern, about...

SHARPEN YOUR AXE

SHARPEN YOUR AXE Two men were given the task of cutting down a tree and chopping it into smaller pieces for firewood. The first man went straight away and began chopping at the tree. The second on the other hand, found a spot under his tree and went to work for the next hour or two simply sharpening his axe. The first man thought that was a waste of time and from the looks of it, it seemed like he was right because he was making quite some progress. As he progressed on however, he had to use more and more effort because his axe was dull and soon he got tired. The second man on the other hand as soon as he finished sharpening his axe worked swiftly with less effort until his task was done. A dull axe meant harder work chopping through fallen trees. The sharper the axe the less effort and energy required for the task. Ecclesiastes 10:10(NKJV) If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success. I see a lesson her...

Bad Tooth Lame Foot

Bad Tooth Lame Foot Have you ever gone through the experience of having an aching tooth? For some reason many times an aching tooth will manifest in the middle of the night and it becomes a nightmare. The pain is almost unbearable and you cannot sleep. You promise yourself that as soon as it is daylight, you will head straight to the dentist. Come morning and it’s not that painful and after taking some pain killers you talk yourself out of going to see a dentist but that night you go though the excruciating pain again. A friend of mine went through so much pain that he actually took a set of pliers and yanked out a tooth in the middle of the night. The pain was just unbearable! Proverbs 25:19 Like a bad tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble. We are all looking for a good and faithful friend but the question is, are you a good and faithful friend? Are you reliable, can I count o...
