Working In A Hostile Environment

Ten Principles of Working In A Hostile Environment 1. Understand that God anoints you for trouble. Be sure you are a Christian. Put on the armor of God before going to work. 2. Don't expect to be appreciated. Your only expectation should be to get a paycheck. Don't come to work to have personal relationships. Don't allow what you do to affect who you are. 3. Do your job well, but remember your mission. God put you there to be a light. 4. Seek opportunities to change the atmosphere without commenting on the problems. You have a God to talk to. You're on an assignment. In quietness and competence shall be your strength. 5. Don't let your environment get inside of you. You should influence it, not let it influence you. Stop going to work to be fed- you didn't come to receive, you came to give. 6. Increase your capacity to work with different personalities. God will often bless you through people you don't even like! 7. Remember where you are d...

Virgin birth – Myth or Historical Truth?

Virgin birth – Myth or Historical Truth? This question falls over from the start if the virgin birth story doesn’t appear in the New Testament. And it doesn’t. With the missionary activities of Paul and others, the passing of the original followers of Jesus and the destruction of Jerusalem, the NT soon fell into the hands of the Greeks and Latins. They interpreted the Hebrew Scriptures through the prism of their own culture, and gave meanings to words and phrases never intended by the NT authors. For example the Holy Spirit coming “upon” Mary is read as a virginal conception. However there are dozens of instances in the Bible where the Holy Spirit came “upon” individuals, usually men, but only in Mary’s case is it read as God impregnating someone. Also a ridiculous interpretation was given to Mary’s question to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" It interprets these words as Mary saying that she does not know how she could get pregnant in the ...

Quotations: Happy Thanksgiving - Robert Brault

Quotations:  Happy Thanksgiving The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts.  No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.  ~H.U. Westermayer If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.  ~Meister Eckhart Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the gratitude.  ~E.P. Powell So once in every year we throng Upon a day apart, To praise the Lord with feast and song In thankfulness of heart. ~Arthur Guiterman,  The First Thanksgiving As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.  ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy Remember God's bounty in the year.  String the pearls of His favor.  Hide the dark parts, except so far as they are breaking out in light!  Give this one da...

Isaiah 65:24. THIS WILL TRULY LIFT YOU UP SPIRITUALLY

Isaiah 65:24.   THIS WILL TRULY LIFT YOU UP SPIRITUALLY.  ENJOY & BELIEVE.   Isaiah 65:24  This is a story written by a doctor who worked in Africa :    One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in  spite of all we could do, she died, leaving us with a tiny, premature baby  and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the  baby alive; as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an  incubator).      We also had no special feeding facilities.      Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous  drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the  cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in.      Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came  back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it ...

Psalm 46:1

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble))--God is always present with you. That means at all times, continually, perpetually, throughout all time, God is with you. In your day of trouble, He is a ever-present help to you. How is He your help? By providing whatever you need; by opening doors for you; by orchestrating things in your favor. That’s because “help” is specific to your need. We serve a God who is very specific, and because He is always with you, He always knows exactly what you need! When people come against you, choose to keep your peace. Choose to forgive. Pray for that person because that's how you disarm the enemy against you. The bible says your battle isn't against flesh and blood. In others words, that person isn't your enemy; the accuser—Satan—is your enemy. He's trying to bring division and get you upset. But when you choose to keep peace, when you keep walking in love and keep a smile on your face, you...

Why and How we should Finish Strong

Today we share our devotion (Eph. 6:10) Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of  H is might .   Apostle Paul did not say "Be strong in your muscles, and in the power of your bones.. " no !  Rather, he said "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might";  not  your might. This simply means take advantage of the Lord's ability and presence. Let's think about it this way: here's this little guy who's always bullied on his way to school every day. He is beaten blue black by a rascal.  After a protracted period, he finally gets his dad to accompany him to school one day, and then the same bully shows up. This time, the young lad is unruffled by the bully's presence and even pours invectives at him; something he hitherto wouldn't dare!  Where did the sudden boldness come from? His dad's presecence.  He is taking advantage of his daddy's might, who obviously is bigger and stronger than the r...

"FLESH"

"FLESH": Activate Devotion " The word became flesh, and made his dwelling among us." - { John 1:14} Not only did the Son of God become a baby, but also he became flesh. Divinity joined to corporeal muscle, blood and bones. In this humbling of the eternal Son of God, the Word who was with God from the beginning and was God, chose to begin in the way all flesh does-as a newborn. But what does "flesh" really mean? Doesn't it sound a bit crass? In the Bible, the word "flesh" points to a number of different realities. Literally, it means "the body," the tissues and bones and fluids that are common to any human being living anywhere in the world at any time. The body is the jar of clay in which God has placed treasures. Consequently, at another level, "flesh" can mean "humanity" or "human nature." To speak of "flesh and blood" refers to the humanness that you share with your ...

Victory over Sin through Grace!

Victory over Sin through Grace! The most amazing thing about becoming born again is that something miraculous happens to our spirits. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior, we literally receive a new spiritual nature. God takes away our sin nature that once controlled us and places His nature on the inside of us. As a result, sin can no longer control us like it did when we were unsaved because His spirit now lives inside of us. This phenomenon is only possible through God’s grace. It is through that grace that we are empowered to overcome sin. We must, however, cooperate with His grace by obeying His Word, otherwise we cause ourselves to remain in bondage to sin when we have been set free from it. When we understand the grace of God, we are empowered to be winners in life. Keep in mind that grace is not a cover up for sin. Grace actually helps us overcome sin when we resist it. God will never require something of us without giving us the tools to carry it out. T...
